CDS & IRAS

A Certificate of Deposit (CD) is a savings certificate that entitles the holder to receipt of interest. CDs tend to offer higher interest rates than traditional savings accounts because the holder commits to a fixed rate for a set term.

Personal CD < $100,000

A Certificate of Deposit (CD) is a savings certificate that entitles the holder to receipt of interest. CDs tend to offer higher interest rates than traditional savings accounts because the holder commits to a fixed rate for a set term. Presidio Bank offers CDs in terms from 7 days to 5 years with a minimum investment of $10,000 for amounts under $100,000.

Our Certificates of Deposits (CDs) provide a secure place for clients to invest their money.  They can invest funds for chosen periods of time at a fixed interest rate, allowing them to ride out any interest rate fluctuations that may occur. CDs are useful when our clients are:

  • Looking for an investment vehicle with a guaranteed rate for a specific period of time
  • Shopping for an investment with an attractive rate and don't need immediate access to their money
  • Receiving a large sum of money that they would like to invest for a limited time, such as proceeds from a real estate sale, a tax refund or an inheritance, which they plan to reinvest later

Also, since CD interest rates are locked in, clients have a sense of security in knowing exactly what they will be receiving in interest. This is why many clients set up CDs as an additional source of income.

Benefits of Personal CD's

  • A guaranteed, competitive fixed rate of interest and earnings
  • A choice of term lengths – from seven days to 5 years
  • Flexible interest payment periods (Monthly; Quarterly; Semi-Annually or at Maturity)
  • Flexible Interest payment options (Redeposit into CD; Pay by check; Transfer into Presidio Bank checking or savings account)
  • Funds in Certificates of Deposits are combined with other accounts of the same entity and insured by the FDIC up to current available limits of $250,000.
